At least 18” of air clearance, alternatively, must be present if the gas range will be installed below protected cabinet surfaces. Some models of gas ranges must be installed on areas with at least 6” sidewall clearance. Other models, on the other hand, may only require 3” of sidewall clearance.

As for the clearance from the rear wall, your gas range must be at least 2-1/4” away from the surface. 0” of air clearance, lastly, may be required for the gas range’s sides that are below the cooktop surface.
